Tropical medicine course(pdf)



The Faculty of Travel Medicine (FTM) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG) has developed a new Royal College Membership Diploma in Travel Medicine. This will commence on May 22nd 2017 with a 4-day residential component followed by 27 weeks of online learning. The 4-day residential component of the course focuses on presentations and workshops from experts in the field of travel medicine. Complimentary Affiliate Membership of the FTM for the duration of learning is included alongside entry to the Membership of the Faculty of Travel Medicine (MFTM) examinations (Part A and Part B). This replaces the former Diploma in Travel Medicine.
In addition, a Foundation course in Travel Medicine will commence with a 2 day residential component on 13th November 2017in Glasgow. This 6 month blended learning course is suitable for those working in the field of travel medicine. Topics covered include pre-travel risk assessment; infections; immunisation theory and malaria.
Both of the above are suitable for doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. Other allied health professionals applications are reviewed on a case by case basis.
